“It is possible to go from being an overweight, fast food junkie and virtually no exercise to eating healthy and daily exercise. At the age of 71, I was told that I was diabetic, but I could control it with diet and exercise. For me, that was definitely a wake up call. I made up my mind to lose weight and start exercising and have dropped my A1C from 6.5 to 6.0 in about 3 to 4 months. An additional benefit is that all my cholesterol numbers have dropped dramatically. I am in better shape physically than I have ever been.
To lose the weight, I watch carbohydrates very close and eat very few sweets (one of my downfalls). I joined Texas Health & Racquet Club and started going to the Silver Sneakers class on Monday thru Thursday and I have personal trainer sessions with Jackie Tadlock on Fridays. I also have a pedal exerciser at home that I use at least 20 minutes every day.
Your age and weight do not prohibit you from getting healthy. You just have to use your determination and will power to succeed. IT CAN BE DONE! I did it and so can you!”
