Hello! My name is JD May; I've been a trainer at Texas Health and Racquet Club for 7+ years! I played college football at Sul Ross State University! I specialize in athletic development with a focus on speed and college/pro prep for athletes! I also have a passion for functional training and pain management/injury prevention. In my time at THRC, I've helped more than 80+ clients ranging from the ages of 7 years old to 84 years old! JD May was my trainer for about a year and a half.We met twice a week, and he had workouts ready for me. One thing that I noticed right away was how thorough JD always was. We never wasted any time. JD knew how to make every minute count, and he would make sure that I actually did the necessary number of repetitions, and did them correctly (and yes, at times it *did* hurt,especially the leg presses). JD is also very responsible: he really watched out for me, made sure all the workouts were safe, and gave advice about food intake. He is one of the most organized and well-meaning people I met: he never canceled any sessions, we were able to keep the schedule, and he was always very kind tome. Even if I messed up.

Having JD as my trainer changed my life: it meant the world to know that I am not alone in this endeavor. A good trainer becomes your guide and your friend. I actually learned to enjoy exercising. Now when I moved away, I still exercise because he helped me to develop a habit. I also remember his teaching me about different muscle groups and how to exercise them best (and now I know where the triceps are, and why it is important to exercise the back).

My name is Elias, and I’ve been a personal trainer at THRC since January of 2020. I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, and an AFPA Pre/Post-Natal Fitness Specialist. I take pride in combining science-based training with real world experience to help people create lasting results. My approach to coaching is shaped by my own fitness journey. I’ve played baseball and football growing up, competed in powerlifting, lost over 50 pounds, and experimented with bodybuilding. All of these experiences have taught me what it truly takes to build strength, transform your body, and stay consistent through challenges. More recently, I’ve shifted my focus to endurance sports, completing 4 marathons, 8 Ironman 70.3 races, and 3 full Ironman triathlons. Each chapter has reinforced my belief that progress is always possible with commitment and the right plan. Outside the gym, I have enjoyed staying active throughout the last several years with hobbies like beach volleyball, bowling, kayak fishing, and most recently, golf. I recently completed my dietetic internship and will soon be sitting for the credentialing exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.       Hi I’m Jax! I am a dedicated personal trainer specializing in sports performance for athletes of all ages. As a former professional athlete, I understand the discipline, resilience, and strategy required to reach meaningful training and health goals. Growing up in El Paso and developing skills on the basketball court, I experienced firsthand the commitment needed to elevate athletic performance. Today, I bring that same passion and knowledge to every client. Helping athletes build strength, improve agility, and unlock their full potential through realistic, personalized training programs. What I find drives me the most is seeing athletes discover confidence they didn’t know they had. Every win, big or small, matters. My mission is not only to build stronger athletes, but to support stronger people, and to be a genuine part of their journey both on and off the court or field.

      Hey y'all! My name is Julia Trimble; I am one of the personal trainers at THRC! I was born in Colorado Springs but grew up in the Austin area. I’m currently in school for my Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science and minoring in Exercise and Sports Science. I have always grown up doing some sort of physical activity, from soccer, rock climbing, backpacking, camping, and being outside. As I got into college, I found a passion for competing in powerlifting, running, as well as bodybuilding, placing 1st overall for natural wellness division. Some of my favorite things are steak, the mountains, running, all the lovely people in my life, and my niece! I have a passion for people and helping them live their life to the fullest through health and fitness! I love the supportive community that we have built here at THRC and believe that we shouldn’t do this alone! I believe each person is individually different and needs different things to support their health and fitness goals! I am always excited to help people turn their goals into a reality together!
